What affects additional flushes?

The grow block contains a limited supply of moisture and nutrients. After mushrooms are harvested, the block needs time and proper hydration before it can produce again. Continued growth depends on the condition of the block and the environment in your home.

Humidity and misting

Keep the treated area consistently humid without leaving the kit waterlogged. Dry air and inconsistent misting can slow or stop new growth.

Temperature and fresh air

Place the kit in bright indirect light with regular fresh air. Pink oyster mushrooms prefer warmer conditions, while White and Brown oysters perform well in moderate indoor temperatures. If you prefer a moderate-temperature specialty variety, explore the White Oyster mushroom growing kit.

Care after harvesting

Remove leftover stems carefully and rehydrate the block according to the Forest Origins tutorial. A clean harvested surface and consistent care give the mycelium the best opportunity to grow again.

How to encourage another flush

1. Remove any remaining mushroom tissue from the harvested area.
2. Rehydrate the block using the instructions in the growing tutorial.
3. Let excess water drain before returning the kit to its growing location.
4. Resume daily misting and watch for new pins.
